DBX A Quickstart Guide – Voiceover Universe
I just bought one and will be hooking it up over Christmas Dbxx Up or Sign In. This will properly set the Mic Input Gain without the added Gain effect of the the Compressor processing. And the output gain to 0 dB. The DBX A has 10 dial adjustments. Al, Just checking this out and would very much like to see your settings: Enhancer LF Detail – Slowly turn up until the lows sound good, but not overbearing.
If the sound is too thin set it back out. HighPass – Try pressing this button in.
Please update your browser to use Reverb
Five of these Dial adjustments are non-linear the scale is neither linear or logarithmic. Now back it off until the gate will open cbx the signal is present. You really need to experiment with these settings to get the best results. HF Detail – Turn up until the high end sounds clear, but not harsh. If no De-Essing is required, turn it off.
Comment by Qquincy on November 30, at 7: Density – Adjust until the release of manuall gain reduction suits your taste. Compressor Start with the density set to about 6 Drive – Turn up until you reach the desired amount of gain reduction.
Now you should have your Gain Chain balanced. Please check your browser settings or contact your system administrator. Output Gain – Adjust this until you have the desired amount of level feeding the next device. Sign in to chat!

If you want to set the gate, start by setting the ratio to Check the gate with the signal. Bypass – This button should be in the out position.
