I adored this book. In the lush ‘s, the roles of women were changing and Bright Young Things is a magnificent telling of the difficult journey three friends take to make something of themselves in the real world. You get the idea. Qualities that led them down very differing paths! I think Cordelia was my favorite character, even though she made some foolish decisions. Hate me if you wish, it’s quite alright. When We Caught Fire.
Oddly I had a harder time getting to brigjt the characters. Very early on in the novel Cordelia goes in search of her famous, criminal father. I actually like my characters flawed.

The first thing that hit me about this book is the quality of the writing, which is even more seductive than the stunning cover. Other books in the series. First pages 2.
Scott Fitzgerald is my favorite writer. Godbersen switches swiftly from one girl to the other, allowing us to view the historical period through various points of view. Ogdbersen knew this was a series but it could have so easily been wrapped brigh very nicely. The Moon and More. I really liked The Luxe series, so was hoping this would have the same appeal. I LOVE abna about the past and times before me!!!

Now, I don’t know how a more intense study would hold up, but since I wasn’t looking for a hard-core historical, I was fine. I had really, really, liked this book from the very get-go. Bright Young Things gets more brigt, but I really do feel Vixen is the better novel out of the two.

So I totally get the idea of setting a fast-paced, sexy story in New York City in the Twenties, and focusing on the schemes and dreams of three “flappers” who are each chasing a different desire. Feb 28, Kristen “Kirby” rated it liked it. I thought she was going to be the spoiled thins rich girl, but I gather that she’s so much more than that. They have strengths, and they have weaknesses. But Astrid’s perfect veneer hides a score of family secrets. I also wasn’t won over by the romance in the book.
