While I enjoyed the book and his insights I felt that it was lacking in some aspects. The main aspects in his writing are portrayal of Islam, strengthening the stereotypical images of Islam, representation of natives, the effect of land on human beings, place of women in Islamic society, the loss of identity in natives and through this travelogue, one can feel his biasedness when he comes to give views of natives without justification and compare Iran with India.
