In the end, man can find his own way, even if divine forces seek to drive us to another fate. There is much to be said about the play itself, its role in Greek society, how it exhibits the transition from revenge and blood-feud to democracy and self-governance, the history of the cultural mythologies surrounding it. The main idea of The Oresteia is that injustice and the blood-feud must be eliminated if society is to attain a high level of social organization, which can only be achieved through the introduction of public morality and civic legal processes.

Only peace- blessings, rising up from the earth and the bsarers sea, and down the vaulting sky let the wind-gods breathe a wash of sunlight streaming through the land, and the yield of soil and grazing cattle flood our city’s life with power and never flag with time.
The Oresteia is the only surviving example of a Greek tragic trilogy, so it has immense importance in the history eumwnides drama. He proclaims that justice has been served, and tries to justify his actions. Moving from darkness to light, from rage to self-governance, from primitive ritual to civilized institution, their spirit of struggle and regeneration becomes an everlasting song of celebration.
P The translation is pretty awesome, the tragedy is beautiful, and the underlying theme of justice and the balance of power between men and women is stark and heavy. Throw an eagle in there.

The language is so deep and seeps into the interaction- apparantly he suggests that there are no good options in life, merely the best of the worst, and that one must take their place amid the roil. There is also an underlying metaphorical aspect to the entire drama: Those who join the family seem to play a part in the curse as well, as is seen with Clytemnestra when she murders her husband Agamemnon, as an act of revenge for him sacrificing their daughter, Iphigenia.
Many consider the Oresteia to be Aeschylus’ finest work. And I, In the trials of war where fighters burn for fame, will never endure the overflow of Athens- all will praise her, victor oresteiia, pride of man. I think I like this old Greek trilogy of plays better than agamemnnon the others that I’ve read. We cannot sleep, and drop by drop at the heart the pain of pain remembered comes again, and we resist, but ripeness comes as well.
